About Ritu

Hi, I’m the Dancer(ironically I can’t dance), better known as Ritu. I first started writing in Grade Eight, in January 2009. My main craft is poetry, but it’s taken me these two years to get to where I am now. My first poems were extremely immature, with stilted rhythm and fixed, boring rhyme, and my only readers were my friends on Facebook, none of whom wrote, so I had little feedback and scope for improvement.

In June 2009, I joined a writing website called Protagonize. This was the turning point of my life, I finally found a place where I could communicate with other writers like myself and older, get the feedback and advice of others and actually learn my craft. I read lots of amazing poetry too, which has influenced my style a lot. The height of my success on Protagonize was last year, exactly one year after I joined, when I featured as one of the site’s most influential and respected writers.

I made this blog in 2010, with the hope of finding more readers and getting my writing out in the world. If you drop by, feel free to have a little poke through my work, or leave a comment or two 🙂
